Our client is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to support the successful achievement of the Division's objectives and sales and optimise profit contribution. To grow strong trade partnerships with new key customers and drive forward our clients consumer distribution in nominated trade channels.

Develop a clear strategy and action plan to target new business opportunities

To instigate and exploit all profitable opportunities as approved internally.

To create clear partnership with nominated customers in terms of Strategic Category Management;Supply and Logistics.

To provide input to and achievement of key brand, category and divisional objectives.

To contribute to the development of the division's yearly sales plan and trading strategies.

To formulate and present to the division an account specific business plan, including strategic and operationalobjectives, to obtain both internal approval and customer alignment.

Gain approval for account specific ranging, promotional, and merchandising plans to obtain competitiveadvantage for Varta.

Monitor and re-evaluate sales forecast and trade expenditure budget as required to attain budgeted contributionlevels, including monthly update with the Sales Director.

Ensure all appropriate departments internally understand the customer's critical success factors.

Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely sales volume and value forecasts, as well as account expenditureforecasts.

To assist in development of the Sales function as a whole through shared learning.


You will have the ability to target new accounts and grow existing accounts, build effective relationships with theexisting account base and execute the POS and promotions.

Be able to develop new relationships and maintain existing key customer base.

Have excellent communication skills, and be able to provide technical knowledge on products.

Applicants should have extensive previous B2B & B2C selling experience with a demonstrable track record ofsuccess.

Previous success of developing new business from existing customers

Customer engagement at all levels, experience building relationships within key accounts
