Up to £55k (dependent of experience) plus car or allowance (c£8k); bonus c15%; strong blue-chip package

We are looking for a Category Development Manager who can deliver Category Management excellence for Tesco! For this matrix structured branded foods business you would be accountable for a leading and developing a customer engagement & category development programme tailored to Tesco. This is a key role in maintaining Trusted Category Advisor status within this key Customer.

Within the Category Development Manager – Tesco role you would be responsible for some major Chilled brands within Tesco. The key purpose of this role is to develop and own the category management relationship with Tesco. You would be accountable for taking their overall Category visions, drivers and tactics, and customising these as required using Tesco specific insight, in order to gain disproportionate advantage for their brands.

For this Category Development Manager – Tesco role we are looking for a classically trained blue chip background; you will be a highly motivated and ambitious individual with a minimum of two years experience in a category development role. You will have a clear understanding of the entire category process and will be able to demonstrate implementation of category plans that have made significant difference to business performance. Ideally looking for individuals who have held a top grocery Category Development role in a branded environment and come with a track-record of success. We are also open to people currently in Retail Buying looking to switch FMCG supplier side or relocators with proven Category Development experience from other developed markets (for example, Australia, NZ, Canada). Ultimately key is a track record of developing customer intimacy and maintaining a trust unbiased Advisor status.
