National Account Controller – Sainsburys, Waitrose & Ocado

Home based with 2-3 days in East Midlands

Salary & reward: Up to £85k plus car and exceptional package

Our client is a blue-chip branded FMCG supplier with a portfolio of market leading brands, spanning multiple categories. Their people focus and ambitious culture has been a key to their success and they have been responsible for developing some of the industry’s more influential leaders. Due to progression, we are currently recruiting for a National Account Controller to lead a team of 4 Account Managers across Sainsburys, Waitrose & Ocado.

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for a £100m+ customer portfolio setting & executing the 3 year strategy across these Grocery & Online retailers to develop a competitive advantage. Within this extremely people focused business your main purpose is to lead a team of four National Account Managers you will be responsible for inspiring, guiding and developing them to deliver world class customer relationships, to deliver sustainable growth and develop team members to progress.

As National Account Controller, your brief is to develop the senior level trade contacts across the customer matrix, Buying, Supply Chain, Category, Formats, Marketing; leading top to top meetings and developing innovative solutions to ensure continued success. Internally you will ensure all functional areas are aligned and working collaboratively to deliver profitable growth for both customer and company. Despite the size of the business, their focus on relationship and improving internal agility has allowed them to continually deliver absolute best in class relationships.

Due to the seniority of the role, they are looking for an influential and inspirational National Account Controller or Lead Account Manager. Experience in trade revenue optimisation and a track record of success with the Top 4 Grocers within a big packaged goods environment is a must. Of course, you’ll have held full P&L responsibility, negotiated multiple JBP’s, have already strong negotiation and influencing skills Finally, but most importantly you will have a passion for people development, along with the ability to set and communicate clear vision, coach for performance and development.
