The business we are representing are an international, premium branded consumer goods business. They manufacture high end non-food products within the housewares sector that are renowned for quality and traditional design. Our client has won a number of very prestigious awards for quality, innovation and industry reputation. The company prides itself on delivering great customer service and creating a compassionate, autonomous working environment for its employees. Products are exported to over 30 countries and sold into major high street retailers across the UK including grocery, department stores and independents. The business also has a rapidly growing hospitality division selling into major hotel chains and restaurant groups.
A niche, unique opportunity has arisen within the hospitality part of the business. We are searching for an export sales manager.
Reporting to the Head of Hospitality, you will be part of a growing area of the business managing international hospitality customers. These are likely to include major restaurant groups and hotel chains. Some of this is done through distributors and some directly with the customers. As this is an internationally focussed role you will need to be comfortable travelling to different countries and regions throughout the year. These are to be defined around the candidate and needs of the business. You will need to establish strong relationships with clients, end users, hotel groups and distributors for example. You may also need to target new business in areas our client is not currently trading with but see high potential for growth. You will be influential in shaping the future strategy of the business and brand development.
As this is a unique opportunity, we are searching for candidates with a specific skill set. Ideally, we are looking for candidates with experience of selling into national customers across the hospitality sector such as hotel chains or large restaurant groups. Experience of doing this on an international basis would be very advantageous. You may be a UK National Account Manager selling into this channel looking to make a move into international sales.
Conversely, we would also consider Export or International Sales Managers with experience of selling into distributors or more traditional retailers.
Any experience of operating in a non-food consumer goods sector such as housewares would be helpful but not essential. Candidates from other FMCG sectors will be considered. Brand representation of high importance, experience of working with a luxury brand would mean you have transferable skills.

The role is home-based but with international travel on a regular basis. You must therefore be flexible and willing to travel as per the role requirements.
