Laine Brewing Company is one of the UK’s fastest growing craft breweries. Born from the inspirational pub and beer scene of Brighton, Laine Brew Co has rapidly gained national distribution. After significant investment, Laine Brew Co is now poised to meet ambitious growth plans.

Laine Brew Co produces a broad range of authentic and accessible craft beers in keg, can, bottle and cask. Their brewing hub is a 45 BBL brewery in the South Downs and they also operate an experimental BrewLab at the People’s Park Tavern, Hackney, and additional brewpubs in Clapham Junction (Four Thieves) and Brighton (North Laine Brewhouse).

Laine works closely with a number of national pub companies and distributors, including Laine Pub Co, Punch, Ei Group, Admiral, Nectar and Star, as well as a multitude of independent accounts. The Sales Director will be expected to develop and strengthen these listings to ensure wide distribution and build ROS. 

The Role

Your focus will be to write and implement a strategy to grow sales and distribution for Laine’s beer brands. You will work to build a team across the UK On-Trade to increase brand awareness and lead from the front to deliver national account listings.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Brewery Director to develop an effective UK sales strategy
  • Ensure the execution of national and regional account strategies for Laine Beer Brands and achieve sales, profit and market share objectives
  • Build and maintain a high performing team capable of delivering against the company growth strategy
  • Lead from the front and utilise your connections to secure contracts with national customers
  • Work closely with the Marketing teams in providing strategic input for NPD to drive category growth
  • Develop a robust RTM contact strategy, empowering the team to take ownership of wholesale relationships
  • Introducing sales performance disciplines within the business utilising CRM Systems and implementing KPI and performance measures

The Candidate

In order to be considered for this fantastic opportunity it is essential that you have an in-depth knowledge of the UK On and Off Trade alongside senior leadership experience from within the brewing industry. You will need to have previously led and developed teams within an On-Trade environment and have connections with National RTM and Managed On-Trade customers. Addition contacts within the Grocery channel are also desirable.   

Laine Brewing Company are looking for somebody who has a keen strategic mind coupled with an entrepreneurial flair so it is vital that you can clearly demonstrate these traits. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills alongside a strong commercial acumen and outstanding negotiations skills are also a must.

The role is ideally based at the head office in Brighton, East Sussex. Home-based candidates who wish to work remotely will also be considered.
