Unitas Wholesale is now the UK’s largest member-owned organisation providing benefits to independent wholesalers and retailers in the Food/Drink and Non-Food markets.

An opportunity has arisen for two field-based Member Development Managers to join our team. Reporting to the Member Development Controller, the ideal candidate will have worked within the sales/operational functions for a major Wholesale/Cash and Carry business, although other sales/operational experience would not be a barrier for the right candidate. For the successful candidates, the path to future promotion and development exists within our organisation, therefore experience of managing strategic projects as well as budgets and people are the qualities we are seeking.

As a Member Development Manager, you will be responsible for a number of wholesale businesses within your region, providing support and advice to maximise member benefits and services available through the group. Effective relationship building is key to the success of the role, acting as the principal interface between the Member Support Centre and our members. Creating focussed business review agendas, analysis of statistical information, budget management and reporting are also key elements required to succeed. The role will involve staying away from home as and when necessary.

We are looking for candidates with excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, thorough commercial awareness, experience of managing a multi-site region, and most importantly, an innate knowledge and understanding of the wholesale sector. Additionally, the ability to negotiate, work individually and within a team, solid IT, reporting, presentation and administration skills are essential for this role.
