Following a sustained period of growth and a focused strategy for 2019 our client is now looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join the business to fully maximise the existing opportunities whilst exploring prospects for further development across the discount / value channel.

The company I am currently working with are a family owned Pet business specialising across accessories, snacks & treats and treatments. Established in the UK over 100 years ago they are now recognised as a global business with offices across mainland Europe and South Africa.  They are currently supplying many large national retailers within the grocery, pet specialists and discounters through their branded and own label offer. 

Working closely with the wider sales team you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with wholesalers and independent Pet Specialists across the Midland’s region. Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will be given the freedom to target prospect customers, across the convenience channel, a relatively new space for this company with huge opportunity.

The ideal candidate will already be operating at territory management level and have a strong background within the pet industry. A passion for the product, along with the drive and determination to fit with the ambition for growth are also important. Experience working with wholesalers and the independent sector is essential to succeed in this role. A vital part of this role is understanding the relationship between the wholesaler and independent store and the ability to act as a brand ambassador to the indies who purchase through wholesaler.

Whilst experience in pet would be highly beneficial, candidates coming with a consumer goods background with specific experience with wholesale accounts will also be considered for this role.
