Our client is a very large fresh food producer supplying the top grocery multiples, discounters and other markets. They have a great reputation for quality and innovation and hold strong relationships with their clients. They operate in a very fast paced environment with low profit margins. They work very hard, play very hard and have lots of fun along the way. The Commercial team within the business is very focused and dedicated. The management offer their people the opportunity to take on lots of account responsibility and the autonomy to try new things. You will therefore have the chance to dive in at the deep end and develop your skills and experience quickly...there's still lots of guidance/help if required or asked for as the business has a very strong team ethic.
About the Job:
We are seeking a real commercial superstar who has a track record of delivering results. You will have previous experience as a SNAM/Account Controller/Account Director. You will use your experience to help the continued growth of the business within their Asda account as an ideal. Asda experience and credibility would therefore be seen as a BIG plus. You will have managed large accounts within your previous experience (£100m t/o+ as a minimum) and be able to apply your knowledge of operating at this level with a customer(s). The Asda relationship is strong and would suit a humble, down to earth person who can take the business forward without being massively 'salesy'. You will utilise your experience in NPD, category and account management to continue the success of the Asda partnership (dedicated teams in both NPD and Category to support).
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will come from a fresh food background with a proven track record of delivering commercial results through effective account management. You will have experience in managing the grocery retailers and forming JBP's. You will be driven and hungry to progress your career and skillset. Experience in managing a small commercial team would also be considered an asset. You will have experience in managing a relationship(s) with a retail within a ~£100m - £500m t/o account/business. The culture of the business lends itself to a bright and bubbly personality and someone with a good sense of humour but ultimately is willing to work very hard.
To be considered for this role, as an absolute minimum, you must be BRILLIANT, have experience in retailer account management within a fresh food/short shelf life product with a low margin. You will be able to demonstrate what you have done to grow accounts and form lasting relationships with buyers. This role would suit a commercial director of a £100m t/o + business that misses the day-to-day buzz of hands on selling, or an experienced and driven SNAM/Account controller/director looking to take a step up and get on a fast track in their career. You will work hard (very hard!), play hard but be rewarded within this role.
Our client is open on salary depending on experience, as a guide circa £80k - £120k
