Commercial Manager -  Sainsburys/Waitrose /Ocado - sustainable start-up

SW London

Very excited to be working in partnership with one of the most interesting and forward-thinking food start-ups of 2019! Their award-winning products are known for quality, innovation and doing a great job for the environment! Sustainability runs through their business and they are on a mission to change the way the consumer sees a once commoditised category.  

Having already won lots of business with big hitters in QSR/foodservice channel they are focusing 2019/20 on retail and now on the hunt for a superstar Commercial Manager to join the team to develop Grocery accounts (already listed with Sainsburys/Waitrose/Ocado).

Reporting into the Head of Sales you will be responsible for:

Account Management – Full P&L responsibility for their key grocery customers. With relatively new listings in this channel there is HUGE growth potential

Winning New Accounts – Identify new customers that fit with the companies strategic goals i.e. Amazon / Co-Op

Commercial Strategy – Working closely with the HoS you will develop short/medium/long term business strategies to ensure customers have the right range, promotions and marketing to maximise profitable growth

Customer Insight – Being a start-up you won’t have the luxury of a marketing team or big budget so you will be expected to undertake full consumer insight, honing a deep knowledge of your customers and their markets

What they are looking for:

  • Experience of developing challenger FMCG food/drinks brands in the UK grocery arena
  • A proven track record of P&L management for Top 6 Grocery accounts, specifically Sainsburys and Waitrose
  • Driven to win new business and grow existing accounts
  • Experience and passion for working in a start-up environment
  • Smart, proactive and confident with an ‘out of the box’ approach to business
  • Passionate about sustainability
