Area Sales Manager

You will strategically manage Independent retail accounts within tiling, flooring and building merchants, to ensure annual turnover and profit growth. As the Area Sales Manager you will be responsible for developing existing listings, generating new business, managing product launches and steering promotional plans. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team whilst working independently within your territory to develop high customer relationships and increase revenue.

Package Details:

  • Basic salary £35,000 OTE £55,000, company car, pension, and excellent bonus and benefits.

Responsibility

  • As the Area Sales Manager you will work in a cross functional environment, working closely with the wider team such as customer service, logistic, supply chain and credit control to ensure you provide the highest standard both internally and externally. 
  • You will report into the Commercial Director to support in strategic company objectives and implement growth within your territory with 65% account management and 35% new business development.
  • As the ASM you will attend trade shows and complete daily targeted appointment.
  • You will report and analyse on the internal CRM system and proactively use social media platforms such as twitter to enhance your presence within the industry. 
  • You will attend monthly and quarterly sales meetings and ensure you are up to date with current market knowledge, trends and competitors.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Account management experience within industry (building, construction and DIY).
  • Desirable experience within the filing and flooring industry.
  • Commercial experience within independent retailers and building merchants.
  • Proven experience of developing and generating new business.
  • Knowledge of industry code of practice TTA
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and achievement orientated
  • High level of numeracy
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
