Your new company
Based in the West Midlands, we are looking to recruit Senior Buyer of Wellbeing products for a market leading multi-product FMCG retail business. They sell a wide range of food and non food products including health, beauty, well-being, sports nutrition, personal care, food, drink and electricals. In order to develop their current product offering and maintain their position as a number 1 in their field they are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to aide in the growth of their key Health and Wellbeing category.
Your new role
As a Senior Buyer, you will take specific responsibility for the implementation and execution of the product category strategy through the management of the full product buying cycle including New Product Development, Promotions, Pricing and Range Architecture. You will be responsible for managing category performance against budget via the ongoing evaluation of sales, margin, availability and profit. You will also be required to work in partnership with the QA and NPD team to ensure that all products, both branded and own label meet the high standards set by the business. Initially on a 6 month fixed term contract basis, applicants will need to be available at relatively short notice.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a skilled and conscientious individual with previous retail buying, trading or category management experience within the health and wellbeing retail sector. You will have a proven track record in meeting and exceeding, sales, profitability and category targets. It is important for this role that you can effectively utilise market data to drive decision making for new product introduction (NPI) and new product development (NPD), ranging and pricing decisions. You should also be quite comfortable engaging with senior managers and suppliers, and be a strong communicator and influencer with good analytical and data manipulation skills
