And we’re looking for the best Business Development Managers to continue building ours.

Our Retail Team is now looking for a Business Development Manager, to take our business to the next level. As you draw on your business development experience to recruit, develop and mentor retailers in the Midlands area

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Achieve set sales plans and implement strategies to grow the area sales in accordance with targets.
  • Maximize retailer support for the Independent brand.
  • Grow net membership in accordance with targets, identifying opportunities for new members to join the BestOne Symbol Group and helping existing members to grow their business and/or store numbers.
  • Ensure key accounts and members are serviced and supported with a range of tailored support, including appropriate callage & commercial reviews which focus on sales, profit, loyalty, operating standards, investment & development, community, growth opportunities, succession / exit and income via BestOne (My Rewards, loyalty payments etc.)
  • Identify opportunities for capital expenditure and development with members, working closely with the development team to ensure a strong conversion rate.
  • Fully accountable for the end to end ownership and resolution of retailer issues, proposals, escalated to the RSM only when absolutely necessary, and with a proposed solution.
  • Strong commercial understanding of Symbol Group industry including competitor market activity and market trends

We’re looking for motivated, dynamic people with a background in independent retail and plenty of experience when it comes to delivering area budgets and growing market share. You’ll have a good knowledge of category management, store development and budget planning. With an aptitude for problem solving and a clean driving licence, you’ll also be a confident people person who can build successful business relationships.
