Based in the South East, my client is one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of chilled and frozen meals to the healthcare sector; offering a nationwide service throughout the UK. With over 20 years’ experience in the prepared meals market, and with a turnover of £17m, they offer a range of meal solutions to meet the catering needs and operational constraints of their clients.
They are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team during an exciting period of change. Reporting into the Commercial Director, your key function will be bringing in new business in their current sector and expanding into new foodservice arenas.
The functional duties of this role will include:
- Identify and secure new financially viable business within the healthcare, and complimentary sectors
- Build and grow relationships with new customers
- Manage the tender process
- Present to potential customers and support with new business gains
- Have direct report responsibility for the National Account Managers and admin support
To be considered for this role you will be expected to have at least 5 years’ experience working within a new business development role, within FMCG, with direct report responsibility. You must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of winning and developing new business, in the ‘hunting’ style.
In addition to the above you must have experience working cross functionally, on product development, and project management.
Flexibility is key for the role, due to your customers’ needs, you may be required to have customer meetings on an evening.
