Category Insights Manager (FMCG) – Cheltenham

Our client is one of the UK’s leading FMCG businesses with a significant part of their business being in food and drink across retail, convenience, out of home and wholesale. As a result of expanding their team they are seeking a Senior Brand Manager to be responsible for one of their key brands.

The Role

•Assist in the delivery of annual budget and brand plans across relevant channels, creating strategic category-led insights and recommendations that achieve distribution and space gains, increased brand share and deliver against volume and profit targets.

•Develop collaborative partnerships and networks with our major customers through insightful market and sales analysis. Utilise the latest category management tools, techniques and processes to achieve range, space and NPD targets at annual category/range reviews and OOH tenders and deliver Look of Success KPIs targets.

•Provide an external customer-category lens to day-to-day business planning and the annual planning process. Track and report performance and develop category plans that ensure sales and share targets are achieved.

•Utilise category scorecards to develop and execute the category drivers that will increase brand visibility and increase shopper demand.

•Work with Sales and Brand Marketing teams to ensure insights are at the heart of our business plans, creating insight-led, compelling category selling stories that support the sell-in of annual marketing programmes and help deliver non-price arguments to support customer JBP agreements.

•Post evaluate promotional activities and category/range reviews and make recommendations to increase in-store visibility, improve base/dealt sales mix and increase shopper conversion (penetration & basket spend).

•Build the knowledge of cross-functional teams on the latest customer strategies and competitor intelligence in-store and develop customised category solutions that are mutually beneficial to the company and the customer.

•Utilise existing and conduct new in-store shopper research to understand the latest shopper behaviour and motivations. Update category point of buying visions that encourage increased shopper conversion, build category sales and give the business a leading-edge with customers.

•Objectively monitor customer specific category performance and provide sales teams with monthly category updates, ad hoc deep dives and competitor analysis that will influence future customer and brand planning
