Our Client is an extremely innovative, global leading and forward-thinking brand. Due to growth and internal promotion, they are looking to take on a bright, upward curve individual with strong desire to succeed as a Commercial Planning Manager with fast track progression to leadership positions.
As brand owners to numerous categories leading electronic brands and with a Global turnover in excess of £800 billion our client has an envious relationship with all the Global and UK mega brands. Due to a recent internal promotion they are now searching for a new addition to their Commercial Planning team.
As a Commercial Planning Manager you will cross functionally lead the strategic development of product segmentation, distribution and strategy to deliver all sales targets. Create, deliver and articulate product portfolio strategies based on the consumer, market and retailer insight understanding. This role is developing and executing sales, pricing, promotion and distribution roadmaps across the portfolio of products in order to deliver the strategy. You will take ownership of the category performance using your developed commercial understanding and control over costs to deliver category performance within agreed P&L framework and profitability expectations. You will be at the forefront of initiating and managing the process of bringing new products to an exciting, constantly shifting market.
Working within commercial planning allows individuals to develop their line management skills as effectively they are cross functionally managing different departments at varying levels. In a typical FMCG management role this is something candidates are not likely to have access to as they tend to be a lot more externally focused. Typically, the next move for a commercial planner would be a leadership role.
This typically, is a very internally focused role. Candidates can come from a variety of backgrounds (Account management, Category Marketing, Strategy, Buying or Retail) however all need to demonstrate high commercial awareness and wider business knowledge. Successful candidates need to be highly numerate, great influencers and can drive core goal focus needs into the business.
