A fantastic new client of mine has recently been in contact regarding the recruitment of a new UK Marketing Manager for their business which spans an impressive 30+ successfully trading in the DIY industry, and their brands are now a household name in the DIY industry. The business has an impressive plan for 2019 and have visions of continuing their growth due to their strong relationships with major retailers throughout the UK.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an existing Marketing Manager to join one of the most respected businesses in the UK DIY industry, with responsibility over a small team and the opportunity to liaise and work closely with multiple functions of the business including sales, supply chain and the customer service team.

The ideal candidate for this position will be very product orientated and will have some experience dealing with major retailers. Experience with the Amazon platform and how the account works would be preferable but is not essential, but a commercial mindset, and an understanding of profit + loss is highly desirable. This role calls for a candidate that is hungry and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. Trade Marketing Managers will be considered for this position.

In this role you have direct management of a small marketing team, where you will be required to aid in the development of the team, ensuring efficient working for maximum output. In this mostly product lead position you will have a high level of authority, reporting directly into the Commercial Director, and will need to have an understanding of structuring SKUs, forecasting, pricing, landscapes and margins.

You will be working closely with the EMEA product development team and will need to provide feedback from the UK market on how the products are being received. The have an input in how the products need to be changed to match the requirements of UK customers.

Key points:

  • 5 years of marketing experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing a large product portfolio
  • Man-Management experience
  • Prior knowledge of garden tools/power tools would be ideal
  • Consumer goods industry
  • Strong analytical acumen; ability to create, edit and understand P+Ls as well as review analytical data
  • Creative flair from both a brand communication and product management perspective
  • Experience of phasing products in and out as well as introducing new products to the UK market
