This is a proud and traditional food produce business which has in recent years been inducted into the portfolio of a global foodservice business. Having grown from a small shop to a retailer, a wholesaler and now a supplier this company understands the fruit and veg market to an exceptional standard.

The Role

Due to consistent growth over the past few years this company is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to focus on winning new business and expanding their customer portfolio. The role will entail:

  • Identify profitable new business opportunities
  • Convert warm and cold leads into active pipeline opportunities through customer relationship management
  • Build, manage and own a new business prospect list in line with the company new business process
  • Work with senior leadership to deliver on strategic sales growth
  • Identify key customer stakeholders and influencers and build long term supplier relationships
  • Using, analysing and converting data sets into meaningful action plans to add value to the business
  • Using internal stakeholder management to report on market insight and trends

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position will be motivated by winning new business and clearly demonstrating value add. What this person needs to have:

  • A track record of successfully winning new business
  • Knowledge and commercial awareness of the food industry, specifically fresh produce
  • An ability to work independently and maintain high levels of motivation
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Insight into customer and retailer decision making
  • Excellent communication, relationship and presentation skills
