A well known retailer is looking for an exceptional individual to head up its ecommerce team for a maternity cover contract. This is a pivotal role in the organisation that will help define the digital experience for consumers across devices and apps.

The role

A well known retailer is looking for an exceptional individual to head up its ecommerce team for a maternity cover contract. This is a pivotal role in the organisation that will help define the digital experience for consumers across devices and apps.

The role manages a large team that covers both the digital merchandising and the digital products side. The merchandising team look after the online store making sure that the UX is streamlined and provide the best experience for customers. They work on the flow of the website as well as making sure that all the products displayed are within set guidelines.

Whereas on the other hand the products team will look after improving the shopper experience by focusing on upgrades and new features. The team are the interface between the consumer and the back end technical team helping to provide a roadmap for the coders.

You will be seen as a leader and a coach for the team and you will be tasked to provide a strategic vision for the department. There will also be work around the analytics and providing real time data to the team to help them make more informed decisions.

The person

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following experience:

• Excellent ecommerce leadership experience ideally from FMCG or grocery
• Experience in digital product management would be useful
• A track record in innovative solutions
• Excellent stakeholder engagement experience
• A natural team leader who inspires and coaches to get the best out of their staff
• A very good understanding of UX and UI principles
• It would be beneficial to have a technical ecommerce understanding
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple deadlines
• A consumer centric individual whose ethos is to put the customer at the heart of everything they do.
