Job Details

This multi-category, global business, well known for their collaborative, friendly culture, are looking for a Category Executive to work across multiple categories. Working alongside the Category Managers, you’ll be tasked with optimising the performance of both the total category sales and the company’s portfolio of products within these categories.

 

This is a great opportunity to gain cross functional exposure (particularly Sales/Finance/Marketing), as well as cross category, various customer types, and more. If you’re looking for a role to really expand your breadth of experience and kick start your category management career, look no further.

 

The role would suit someone with a foundation within category management, or even someone with some form of analytical exposure; whether that’s a University placement as a Category Analyst, or 18 months post graduation experience within insight, we’re open to experience and really looking for the right personality as a priority.

 

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis and interpretation of multiple data sources (e.g. EPOS and Panel data by customer and internal COGNOS data)
  • Development of customer reports and presentations where required
  • Identification of trends, development of customer, consumer and shopper insights and recommendation of assortment, merchandising and promotional activities to help drive the business forward
  • Regular review of pricing and promotional effectiveness across the market
  • Regular sharing of market data in an easy-to-understand format to enable identification of opportunities (e.g. dashboards / presentations)
  • Recommendations of innovative solutions to improve listings and volume turnover for category based on insights garnered
  • Ad hoc data analysis / assistance for Category Managers where required
  • Bring the shopper and customer view to the table via regular interaction with Sales & Marketing teams – in particular for the Range Review process, Account reviews and Marketing Plans
  • Ad Hoc interaction with customers to share insights to assist them with driving category growth
  • Provision of ad hoc reports / analysis of this data as required by key stakeholders
  • Analysis of category before and after key changes made to enable rigorous evaluation
  • Assistance for Range Review presentations as required including the development of presentation decks
  • Regular interaction and networking with across the European region
  • Assist Category Managers to manage internal and external data sources, communication to broader team and agency relationships where required
  • Organisation of key internal meetings (e.g. GFK 3x-yearly presentations) and dissemination of key information / presentation to broader team
  • Management of Category Management folders (including regular ‘cleaning up’ of files)
  • Regular download, saving and sharing of key reports from data suppliers (e.g. IRI presentations) with topline summary provided
  • Preparation, implementation & monitoring of CatMan budget for any key projects you may be managing (liaison with rest of team to ensure tracking & forecasting is accurate)
  • Regular tracking of spend in both UK and Ireland
  • Processing and creation of PO’s when requested in a timely manner while capturing spend accurately in the combined tracker
  • Set-up of new suppliers in system on occasion
  • Work with CatMan colleagues to ensure planned spend does not exceed budget
