The Company
South East based and one of the UK’s leading wholesalers of fresh food, our client has an excellent reputation working across multiple short shelf life and chilled food categories within the FMCG sector. Their private label products are a staple in the food service industry, with a focus on quality and sustainability, this business has achieved over 10% growth the last 6 years running.
When they opened over half a century ago the business focused on one core category, and whilst this is still their main product line, they have expanded the portfolio vastly over the last few years. Following the organisations recent success, they are now looking to add a Business Development Manager into their already high performing commercial division.
The functional duties of this role will include:
- Identifying all new commercial opportunities which will enable the business to achieve and increase sales turnover and gross profit
- To build, maintain and continually develop a new business prospect list within the HoReCa channel
- Converting potential new customers into realistic opportunities
- Negotiating long term agreements prior to new business mobilisation
- Owning and executing the organisations new business process from start to end
Requirements
To be considered for this role you will be expected to have at least 18 months experience working within a new business development role. All those with a national accounts background will be considered, however you must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of winning and developing new business.
In addition to the above you must have experience working with national accounts across the HoReCa channel. Whilst fresh food exposure is desirable, it is not essential. All those from the consumer goods industry will be considered.
