About the Role:
The key responsibilities in this role will include the control of value chains and the cost of food, supplier management and creation and implementation of product plans and buying strategies.
Building great relationships with suppliers through effective commercial management whilst maintaining negotiating power will be key for your success.
The role will give you the opportunity to improve efficiency with suppliers and by constantly challenging the current buying practices you will drive efficiencies and add value to the business.
Strategic planning will allow you to deliver margin improvement and drive profitability, whilst ensuring quality is never compromised.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record as a buyer with commercial activities in the food sector, ideally with protein experience. Experience within or supplying a major retailer would be considered an asset. You will also need negotiation skills and have proven yourself as a great communicator that can influence others. You will have a history of strong decision making backed by results of seizing commercial opportunities through your skills as a buyer.
To be considered for this role you must have commercial experience as a buyer with proven results. Have a working knowledge of retail supply chains and experience negotiating the procurement of food products. You must have a positive attitude and outlook.
