National Account Manager – Discount Retail / Value Channel
£53,000 – Car allowance, bonus, pension, medical cover and 25 days holiday
My client is a rapidly expanding food company focused on delivering the highest quality of products and service to their growing customer base. Specialists in ambient impulse, they have experienced significant growth in the 3 years, supplying key customers within the UK retail industry.
This business has been manufacturing products in the UK for over 50 years. More recently they have made significant investment in their manufacturing facilities, giving them the capability to provide the highest quality, impulse offering. As a result of this organisations significant growth and investment, this highly successful business is looking for bright, articulate and ambitious National Account Manager to join their highly driven commercial division.
As National Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitable business growth and development into the discount retail / value channel.
Day to day duties will include:
- Managing and developing new and existing relationships.
- Influencing internally and liaising with other departments such as marketing/category and NPD.
- Developing joint business plans with new and existing customers to deliver on all commercial objectives, and understanding all areas of business that impact upon sales and influence these to deliver forecasted requirements.
- Setting objectives and achieving in customer meetings.
- Promotional planning, evaluation, reviewing and communication.

To be considered for this position, you will be a commercially astute and entrepreneurial operator, able to work closely with key customers in delivering excellent quality products to drive their sales and profits. As an excellent communicator and leader, you will be able to work effectively and manage cross functional teams both internally and externally.
It is preferable that you have exposure to ambient, chilled or frozen food categories, selling into customers within the discount / value channel. Customers may include Heron, Iceland, B&M, Farmfoods, Home Bargains and Poundland. Crucially your ability to work independently and on your own initiative is essential.
