Job Details

We are working with a leading horticultural business who have recently reviewed their supply chain, resulting in a new opportunity for a Product Manager. This business is one of the largest and successful commercial distributors of seed and plants in the UK with an exceptional reputation within the industry. Consideration will be given to candidates of all levels and experience.

The Job:

Whilst the responsibilities may vary based on the experience of the candidate, the role outline is for the successful candidate to manage and develop the vegetative commercial product range in line with agreed financial targets. To achieve this would require very close communication with the supply chain and suppliers, building these relationships will be crucial to maintaining product supply during difficult seasonal periods.

In managing these products, you will also keep an eye on the quality to ensure the reputation of the brand is upheld. Travelling will be a requirement of the role and looking at new varieties or new products to develop that the business can add to the current range available. All of this will require internal communication with the rest of the team and this role itself will report directly into the Commercial Director.

The Candidate:

We are very open on the candidate, as stated previously, we would like to consider all levels of experience from proven product managers in the industry to very enthusiastic graduates, keen to take up this exciting opportunity and learn it from the ground up. In terms of specifics we are looking for the following:
Experience in the horticultural sector would be preferred, especially across annual vegetative products with a working knowledge of the vegetative supply chain.
A degree or equivalent qualification would be favourable.
Strong communication and relationship building skills will help you when dealing with suppliers, customers and internal colleagues.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office would be essential, specifically Excel. Any experience with SAP would be desirable.
This role will require national and international travel where appropriate.

As previously mentioned this is a relatively open brief, we are keen to hear from enthusiastic graduates right the way through to experienced product managers. The business prides itself on a great working culture so the right person will fit better.

The salary on offer will flex to match the experience of the candidate applying, along with this comes a very competitive package.
