We now have a fantastic permanent full time position for an experienced Demand Planner or Demand Planning Manager to join us at our head office in St Albans, in our Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) team as our Demand Planning Manager.

Why work as part of our Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) team?

‘Why would you not want to?’ Is the question we should really be asking… you’ll get to work with some of the most talented people in the sector as well as some amazing brands & blue-chip clients.

 

In this key role you’ll provide the magic between the commercial team and our manufacturing teams, without you who knows what would happen. But with you, we’ll know that our clients will be able to get their stock on time, while ensuring our manufacturing sites are able to run seamlessly and on schedule.

 

What does your typical day look like?

As well as managing two direct reports, you may start the day speaking with one of our Sales Controllers reviewing their forecast, part of this will be completing trend analysis both on past internal sales data as well as gathering sales data directly from customers were possible, ensuring that forecasts are not under or over.

 

Another part of your day might be spent reviewing surplus stock or stock shortages and making commercials decisions on how best to manage these.

 

The final part of your day might see you providing key reports to senior stakeholders, ensuring the business has a clear vision of what the next 24 months should look like, across our 500 SKU’s.

 

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

This role would be great for an existing Demand Planning Manager who is looking for a new challenge or would like to work for a leading British Brand. Alternatively a Senior Demand Planner who is looking to take their next career step.

 

Final part of the mix.

To be successful in this role at Burton’s you’ll experience in a planning role within the FMCG sector, ideally for a manufacture (food sector experience is desirable). You’ll need experience of dealing for senior stakeholders across (but not limited to) Sales, Supply Chain, Finance & Operations, Project & Marketing.

 

You’ll need to numerically strong, able to build strong relations with trust being at the heart of everything you do.
