Supply Chain Manager | Fresh Produce
Our client is a leading fresh produce business who have experienced a large amount of growth in recent years, thanks to their drive and determination to deliver the best service to their retail clients. As a result of this growth, they are now looking to appoint a Supply Chain Manager who can help them seek out areas for efficiency and cost improvements across their Procurement, Operations and potentially Commercial functions. There is an opportunity for someone to have a real impact on the business and to make them as lean and efficient as possible.
You will be working closely with Operations, Procurement and Commercial teams in order to highlight potential areas for cost and efficiency savings.
This business has very varied functions, ranging from simple to complex. With the right approach and focus, there will be a number of synergies to find and exploit, which can help the business become more effective.
You will need to get under the skin of the end to end supply chain, understanding packaging and stock holding, logistics co-ordination etc. This really is a very varied and exciting role.
The ideal candidate will have a background in fresh produce. But if not, then a background in very short shelf life or chilled goods is essential.
There is a real crossover between operations, supply chain and procurement with this role, so people with relevant backgrounds in these area's will be considered. Good exposure to logistics will be a real benefit.
Time management and prioritisation is key in this role. You will potentially have a number of areas you can explore, but will get bogged down very quickly if you try to do too much at once!
The business is in the process of moving to PR3 (Prophet) so experience with this ERP system would be a distinct advantage.
If this sounds like the sort of role that would interest you or would be a good step for your career, then please get in touch with Morten Andresen on 01780 480530.
