Area Sales Manager – Non-food consumer goods – Southern Territory

Our client is one of the world’s largest branded & unbranded suppliers of homeware products. They are renowned for innovation, trend led designs and unique manufacturing processes. The products are a household name in the industry and trusted as a very respected brand. They offer solutions for both everyday users of their products, fashion and industry enthusiasts.

The business supply a number of retail channels including grocery, department stores, high street and hospitality. The company are very forward thinking and in recent years have looked to invest heavily and implement new ways of working. For example new CRM systems, sales support Apps, a new website all now in place.

Culturally it’s a business with strong values, ethics and an all-round supportive environment.

We are searching for an Area Sales Manager to join the business to cover the Southern Territory.

As Area Sales Manager you will inherit a portfolio of existing accounts across the territory. This person will be tasked with delivering sales growth across both retail and Horeca channels. Part of the role will also be to spot new business opportunities and deliver further sales growth. You will need to work creatively in line with the strategic plans of the brand and marketing strategies. You will also offer support to the National Account team, national retailer store visits and attending trade shows. The role requires travel and some overnight stay to ensure the territory is well managed.

We are searching for candidates with some territory/field sales experience looking to develop their career. It would be beneficial to have worked in a non-food category such as housewares, gift or a related category but not essential. Candidates from another FMCG area looking for a change will be considered. Experience of selling into the independent channel and related customers would also be beneficial.  You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office, Skype and have strong analytical skills.  It’s very much about the person being ambitious, determined, self-motivated and someone who works well as part of a team.
