The Business

Our client has a brilliant brand with a fabulous vision of the future.  To maintain this leadership position, they are seeking to appoint a high calibre category manager that will maintain this position with a top retailer.

The Role

In this role you will:

  • Proactively manage specific accounts including presenting account and contact strategies for each account, all day to day activation and communication, trade presentations and those including buyers and customer planning teams
  • Support Online & Shopper Marketing Manager with raising the profile of the Shopper Marketing function internally, building confidence of the function internally
  • Manage the responsibilities of the Assistant Shopper Marketing Manager encouraging ownership
  • Liaise cross functionally where required to land in store shopper activity
  • Engage Retailer media agencies and creative agencies to implement initiatives based on shopper insight
  • Liaise with licensed partners to ensure budgets are being spent timely and effectively and share shopper learnings with them
  • Full ownership of ROI evaluation in accounts and present back to the commercial team
  • Understand level of investment required by customer and present back to Online & Shopper Marketing Manager
  • Understand how online and in store plans dovetail to create overall shopper campaigns
  • Regular retailer store visits to ensure activity has landed correctly, to track competitor activity and to understand shopper behaviour within the Frozen category. Feedback on a timely basis
  • Seek Leadership Team  approval for initiatives
  • Admin accuracy supported by Assistant Shopper Marketing Manager
  • Invoice Management and timely tracking of budget tracker
  • Ensure shopper activity planner is up to date with all tasks and deadlines
  • Ensure customer shopper plans are up to date with the latest activity and funding levels

The Candidate

To be a success you will:

  • Have experience of working with Multiple Retailers to execute branded shopper marketing plans
  • Have a working knowledge of Dunnhumby and Nectar, (Tesco & Sainsbury’s) loyalty card tools
  • Be a highly organised individual with good planning skills, attention to detail & the ability to manage cross functional relationships both within and outside of the company
  • Have an advanced level of written and oral communication skills are essential
  • Be analytical with good financial awareness
  • Have developed interpersonal skills and high personal credibility is required to interface between both internal functions and external customers to align both requirements and resolve issues
  • Be able to present and influence internal and external people
  • Ownership and responsibility for living by the values of the business at all times
