Established in the summer of 2015 by B9 Beverages and headquartered in New Delhi, India, Bira 91 has quickly become the rage amongst urban millennials owing to its delicious beers, bold identity and a strong draft network.

Driven by a dynamic and energetic global team of over 300 passionate beer lovers, the company now operates two breweries in India, and has offices in 9 cities including New York. Bira 91 is backed by Silicon Valley's legendary venture capital firm Sequoia. Crafted with the creative urban drinker in mind — someone who likes to have fun and doesn't take life (or beer) too seriously, the brand aims to disrupt the global beer world with 21st century technology and its playful monkey mascot. Bira 91 are now excited to replicate their global success across several UK cities in 2019, including London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The Role

Bira 91 is looking to appoint an outstanding and energetic Sales Director to spearhead the future sales strategy, launch the exciting beer brand in the UK and effectively motivate the new sales team.

This is a senior leadership role where you will take total ownership of new business development, sales, distributor management and detailed P&L management, working closely with all internal colleagues and key customer stakeholders to formulate long-term profitable trading strategies and highly effective customer relationships. You will also shape and develop all UK marketing activities including communication and promotional strategies with a focus on driving rate-of-sale and building consumer brand awareness.

This is a challenging role that requires strong commercial and financial acumen, with a proven track record of successfully launching new brands in the UK market, whilst driving profitable category growth.

About You

To make a success of this fantastic sales leadership role, you will have strongly grown your career in a recognised FMCG company within the on-trade sector, where you have developed a sound understanding of the route to market dynamics and key customer contacts. You have been successful to date leading sales teams to deliver the highest customer service standards, as well as successfully growing profitable sales and budgetary achievement. At the same time, you are a hustler, willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done!

Above all, you are a charismatic and passionate individual with the gravitas to ‘hold the floor’, together with the drive, energy, and strategic mind-set to achieve both Bira 91’s commercial objectives as well as your own career goals, which in this role could broaden into a future European Director role.
