Junior Buyer - FMCG

Your new company
We have a vacancy for a Junior Buyer from a retail or wholesale consumer background to join this unique General Merchandise retailer based in the Merseyside region. Commutable from Liverpool, Wirral and the surrounding areas, they sell a broad range of Food, Drink, Home, Garden, Pet and DIY products, with an emphasis on supplying the customers with all of their day to day needs at great value.

Your new role
In your role as a Junior Buyer with the company, you will be responsible for sourcing and identifying new suppliers, developing supplier relationships and placing orders with them. You will be required to negotiate cost prices based on volume, exclusivity and promotional plans, as well as agree terms and conditions with them. You will also be required to liaise with internal departments such as supply chain, finance and operations to ensure the business always have the stock available for their loyal customers

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this exciting and challenging role, you will ideally have experience in a consumer focused Buying environment, preferably for a retail or wholesale business. You will be a a shrewd negotiator, with excellent relationship building skills, be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team. Your sound commercial acumen and your ability to use your own initiative will also be vital in being successful in this position.

What you'll get in return
In return, the company will offer a good salary of £25-30,000 dependant on experience as well as other benefits, in a supportive, fast paced and vibrant environment
