An opportunity has arisen with a global, market leading consumer good business with a fantastic reputation in the industry. They can offer a portfolio of very well renowned brands in their specific product category along with a number of key licences. The business is privately-owned, highly profitable and further enhancing its reputation both internationally and across the UK market. Products are sold into the top 4 grocers, department stores, high street and online retailers. The business has a track record of developing people internally and can offer a long-term career path for the right candidate. We are seeking a Senior National Account Manager to join the team, managing a number of high profile, major UK retailers.
Reporting into the UK Head of Sales, you will have full P&L responsibility for a portfolio of major UK retailers likely to include top 4 grocers. You will be a key member of the senior team, expected to play an integral part in developing and nurturing relationships with customers and internally. The role offers variety, working on promotional plans, trading strategy, category and marketing. This person must be a great communicator and able to liaise with all other business functions including marketing, logistics and customer services. You will need to be aware of competitor activity and industry trends.
In order to be considered for this opportunity you must have experience of operating at Senior National Account level, selling into major UK retailers. You will come from an FMCG or consumer durables background. We are very open on product experience; this could be non-food or food as the products have some cross over. The role is viewed as a senior position so a proven track record in managing and growing national accounts is essential. You must have a thorough understanding of category management, trade marketing and be highly analytical. This person also needs to be a self-starter, entrepreneurial and able to take hands on approach.
