About the Company:
Our client is a well established international leading food supplier serving major retailers and the food service sectors. With a great reputation for quality and flexibility they offer a variety of value added food products across a chilled and frozen range. Their state-of-the-art facilities from which they operate allows them to constantly innovate and be at the forefront of market trends. Although they have an international reach they are still a family owned business who offer great training and progression for their team.
The Senior Seafood Buyer is responsible for sourcing suppliers and purchasing the raw material that is required for the factory. The post holder must have a sound knowledge of the Company's products and they will be required to work closely with the production, technical and commercial teams.
Purchasing raw material to meet the demands of production, whilst being aware of the lead times and quality inspection requirements.
Building strong relationships with current suppliers.
Sourcing and securing new suppliers.
Negotiating prices with suppliers to ensure materials and ingredients are being supplied at the best price.
Liaising with the commercial, production and technical teams to ensure the raw material meets the required standards.
Having a firm understanding of the market and making appropriate adjustments to raw material purchases based on this.
Completing any other duties as required in this role.

Previous seafood buying experience is essential.
Previous experience of working within the food industry or an FMCG is essential.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work will be from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
Other Relevant Information:
Full driving licence is essential.
The post holder must be willing to travel as and when it is required.
On occasions there will be a requirement for the post holder to be flexible with their working hours to fit with the needs of the business.
£35,000 - £50,000 DOE
Six weeks annual leave per year. This includes statutory holidays.
