South West Based; Catchment Areas 1 Hour Commute - Reading / Maidenhead, Bristol, Cheltenham

Do you have proven national account experience in food wholesale working with high profile organisations and are looking for the next step?

We are a rapidly expanding fine food business selling gourmet products in the retail, food service and giftware sectors, with a portfolio of organisations such as Ocado, Selfridges and Creed Food Service. Currently growing at 40%+, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our exciting business and to make a major impact to the ongoing business development in both the UK and export markets.

We are seeking a commercially aware entrepreneurial person to take our sales department to the next level.  You will be a sales professional with an impressive sales track record in gourmet foods, with team management experience and ambitious career plans.

The Head of Sales Role:

To qualify for this great role you must have experience managing head office national accounts within the foodservice/wholesale channels, be able to motivate and lead a small team and have a well-trained, structured, modern approach to account management plus be proud of your profitable sales growth achievements. The right candidate will be highly rewarded and will enjoy fast track career growth opportunities.

Head of Sales Responsibilities:

+ Primary responsibility for all aspects of  B2B Sales activities for UK and emerging Export markets

+ Planning and delivering the Sales strategy for UK and Export markets

+ Direct management responsibility for a small number of key national accounts

+ Identifying and executing new key business development opportunities in existing and emerging markets

+ Managing and organising the existing sales team, developing an organisation that can continue to deliver ongoing growth

+ Maintaining and enhancing our strong sales growth trajectory, with expectation of year on year growth maintained at 40%+

+ Developing and managing sales operating budgets

+ Building on our excellence in customer service

+ Maximising company sales prices and resulting profit margins

+ Representing the brand externally to enhance and strengthen the company’s profile

Personal Attributes:

+ Entrepreneurial and Commercially aware; target driven with relentless ambition

+ 5 years + working as a senior sales executive within the gourmet food industry

+ Proven experience in building relationships with senior buyers and MDs in food service or retail channels

+ Proven track record for delivering significant growth

+ Excellent communications skills – written and verbal

+ Effective leadership and management skills

+ Team building;  the ability to motivate others to achieve

+ Tech savvy with a good understanding of the benefits of leveraging technology

+ Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish excellent working relationships with a variety of people

+ Strong organisational skills

+ Strategic thinker who is commercially aware

+ Creative, with initiative and innovative ideas

+ Full clean driving licence

Remuneration Package:

+ Salary: £50,000 per annum

+ Bonus: Generous Commission on Sales plus Annual Bonus based on Growth; uncapped potential

+ Vehicle: Company vehicle provided

+ Holiday: 28 days per annum including bank holidays

+ Hours of work: 8.30- 5pm- this is a senior role so it expected that the person will undertake the hours to complete the role

+ Pension: Contributory pension scheme

+ Location: Based at South West with significant travel in UK and occasional trips abroad
