Area Sales Manager – Non-food Consumer Goods – Covering South of England

Our clients are a market leading non-food consumer goods business that operate across a number of product categories including seasonal, garden and gifting. Products are design-led and made specifically for each retailer’s needs. The business supply a number of key customer channels including department stores, high street retailers, garden centres and the independent trade. The last 2 years has seen significant growth undertaken by the current Sales Director who has progressed through the business. Culture is very important, it’s a people orientated environment where employees are nurtured and developed for the long-term. An opportunity has arisen for an Area Sales Manager to join the team covering the South of England. This position can offer fast progression to Key Account level for the successful candidate.

As Area Sales Manager you will be very customer facing and good at building relationships with both existing accounts and prospecting for new business. The territory is already well developed and delivering a significant level of turnover. However it has great potential for growth, it requires someone with drive and tenacity to further develop the area. With this you will be rewarded with an excellent commission scheme based on personal performance. The main customer base is garden centres, small department stores and independent retailers.

To be considered for this opportunity ideally you will have some level of previous territory sales experience. Ideally you will have sold a non-food consumer goods product into garden centres or independent retailers meaning you have transferable skills. We require someone ambitious, highly motivated and keen to progress their career. Ideally you will be based somewhere south of the Midlands area. Our client can shape the role around where they person is based but you must be willing to travel regularly. This is a great chance to work for a progressive company and a line manager who offers support and has a personable approach.
