Senior Commercial Manager | Fresh Produce | Large business
Our client is one of the leading fresh produce businesses with a long-standing and proven track record of delivering excellent service and quality products to the major retailers and foodservice businesses. They are currently on the lookout for a Senior Commercial Manager to work on one of their major retail accounts. This is a big opportunity to help steer a very impressive business and to make an impact with one of their largest customer accounts.
You will be working very closely with the Sales Director and MD to ensure the businesses strategy is implemented properly and filters down through the team.
It is essential that you develop a good relationship with your retail buyers and category manager as this will give you a great basis on which to grow.
The business has some very ambitious growth plans over the next 3-5 years and you will be a very integral part of this.
You will also be dealing with a range of growers that are linked to the business, so understanding the challenges they face is important as well.
You will be a very experienced Commercial Manager who, ideally, has a background in fresh produce supply to the major retailers. If not fresh produce, then chilled own label is essential.
A proven track record of working with the Big 4 retailers will be required as this is a very large part of the role.
Experience of strategic planning and delivery is required. This is not just a normal Account Management role and you will need to wear a number of hats.
You will often need to manage a number of internal relationships as well, to ensure that the whole business is aware and happy with the decisions that are made.
