Job Details

We currently have the great pleasure of working with Pipers Crisps, helping them to identify and recruit an outstanding Buyer, for the next stage of development for their ever growing and multi-award winning business! As a business, they have honed their approach over their 14 year history to deliver great tasting product to as many people as possible. Their brand is built around their core values of commerciality, integrity, teamwork and quality and they will never compromise on these. In order to get the best quality product to their customers and consumers, they need to have a strong and effective team around them who are all pulling in the same direction and striving for the best value for the business. Started by three farmers in 2004, the business has grown consistently every year and continues to have big aspirations, so you need to be willing to roll your sleeves up when the need arises as well as utilise your skills and experience to develop the Buying function and the wider supply chain function. Pipers are a great business to work for and can offer opportunities for progression and development to the right people.

The Role:

As the main Buyer for Pipers, you will have responsibility for negotiating the buying of Ingredients (Fresh Produce, Flavourings, Oils etc) as well as Indirects (Packaging, PPE, Consumables, Chemicals etc). You will be working closely with a number of members of the team to ensure there are robust systems and processes in place for material scheduling, new projects and effective supplier relationships. Managing the service levels of your suppliers is vital and will be an indicator of how well you are doing in the role.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level with a proven track record of adding value as a buyer, in terms of procurement, negotiation, supplier relationship and system improvements. Experience, ideally in a food related business, of buying raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials and indirects would help to make an immediate impact and having a CIPS qualification would be an advantage. The ability to be an effective communicator and live the Pipers values are essential.

If you are interested in this Buyer / Procurement role or Pipers as a business in general, then please don't hesitate to get in touch with Morten Andresen on 01780 480530 or apply via the link.

MorePeople have been exclusively commissioned for this role and any direct or third party applications will be forwarded to them to manage.
