Area Sales/Key Account Manager – housewares/gifting
Our client is a well-renowned, traditional manufacturer of products for the home including design-led homewares and gifting. Products are hand crafted and made in the UK, renowned for high quality with strong history and heritage. The business supply a number of key retail channels including grocery, department stores, online retail, garden centres, and the independent trade.
They are also looking to further expand into hospitality and grow internationally so it’s an exciting journey to be a part of. Culture is very entrepreneurial, inclusive and they allow people autonomy to work independently. An opportunity has arisen for an Area Sales/Key Account Manager to join the business covering the North of England and Midlands patch.
As Area Sales/Key Account Manager you will be tasked with growing and developing your designated area. The role offers a mixed customer base including independent retailers, garden centres and small department stores for example. You will also have the opportunity to drive new business in other channels such as hospitality whilst growing the existing customer base. It’s a relationship led role, regularly interacting with customers on a day to day basis. You will need to work creatively in line with the strategic plans of the brand and marketing strategies. This person will get the chance to be involved in regular trade shows and sales team meetings. The position reports into the Sales Manager who will offer great support and development in your new role.
In order to be considered for this excellent opportunity you must have previous field or key account experience, ideally in a similar product category. For example housewares, gifting or a closely related non-food product. We are searching for candidates who have sold into the designated customer base such as garden centres, independent retailers or department stores and can bring across relevant experience. Whilst the role is covering an area it does encompass key account responsibility so would offer some career progression. Ideally you will be located somewhere on the M1 corridor and comfortable with regular travel. You must be personable, approachable and with excellent inter personal skills.
