National Account Manager – Retail FTC 12 Months

Our client is a mainstream toiletries and pharmaceutical brand who have an impressive portfolio of iconic market leading brands. You will take responsibility for:

  • Managing a considerable P&L across key customers.
  • Negotiating and delivering successful JBP’s.
  • Identifying suitable opportunities for growth based on category research and market data.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and be able to hit the ground running. You will be currently operating at NAM level within a recognisable FMCG supplier (Health & Beauty/Pharmaceuticals would be preferable) and be able to demonstrate a successful track record of developing strong, profitable relationships and growth within your accounts. You will be a team player and a strong communicator so your experience & approach are key to the success of this role.

The Role

  • To manage specific sales accounts, improving turnover and profitability through promotions, range extensions and development of new products initiatives.                                                                        
  • To conduct effective customer / supplier reviews on a regular basis to ensure key KPI’s are met.  This includes delivery performance, quality management, customer service levels, innovations.
  • To manage and analyse customer commercials. To include – analysis of sales performance and trends.  To provide forecasts, monitor stock commitment and liability, prices and margin maintenance.
  • To regularly report and review with the customers their liability for chemicals and packaging materials.  Ensure that customer agreements on liability are adhered to at all times.
  • To regularly review and carry out research into competitors, consumer attitudes, market activity and new initiatives (ingredients and packaging).  To interpret how this information can be taken forward to new business opportunities.
  • To present, new ideas, products and recommend and implement promotional activity in line with customer account objectives, as well as new accounts.
  • Actively seek out new business opportunities within existing and new customers covering both the pharmaceutical and toiletry sectors.
  • To assist, where necessary, in the general commercial and marketing activities of the Sales operation.
