We are looking for a Category Development Manager who can deliver Category Management excellence to Tesco & Morrisons! For this matrix structured branded foods business you would be accountable for a leading and developing a customer engagement & category development programme tailored to that customer. This is a key role in achieving Trusted Category Advisor status with these key Customers.
Within the role you would be responsible for total brand portfolio with Morrisons and would be accountable for a couple of categories within Tesco within a highly competitive category. The key purpose of this role is to develop and own the category management relationship with the customers. You would be accountable for taking their overall Category visions, drivers and tactics, and customising these as required using retailer specific insight, in order to gain disproportionate advantage for our brands in aligned customers.
We are looking for a classically trained blue chip background; you will be a highly motivated and ambitious individual with a minimum of two years experience in a category development role. You will have a clear understanding of the entire category process and will be able to demonstrate implementation of category plans that have made significant difference to business performance. The role would give you significant exposure and profile within both retailer but also this leading food company recognised as a career employer. Previous Category Development Managers have progressed within the function, moved into National Accounts, Shopper Insights or Market Strategy & Planning.
