We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our team. You will be working at our bright and modern sites on the Chichester Food Park in beautiful West Sussex.

You will provide point of contact for the relevant Customer Technical Manager
The role will involve managing the day-to-day food safety of all products produced by the site through the development, implementation and ongoing management of robust, food safety & quality systems for the site. To control all site quality activities in line with technical, operational, financial and other targets.
To ensure the site meets the legal and regulatory requirements as well as customer and industry standards in Food Safety and Quality Management, and to ensure audit-ready standards every day.
This role will suit someone who has previous experience in Fruit or Fresh produce, a people person with excellent communication skills, Good Project Management skills and eager to make a change.

Hours: 08.30am - 5.30pm - Monday - Friday
Key Accountabilities:
Resource management:
Quality Management System - Ensure systems meet legal, customer & best practice
Customer relationship:
Liaise with customer technologists at appropriate level on issue resolution and pro-active technical management.
Be the main point of contact for external customers on day to day technical matters.
Development and delivery of Customer Quality Improvement Plans
Delivery of Customer KPI's
Process control:
Continuous improvement - Pro-actively contribute to improvement activities

Responsibilities:
Ensure that the product quality & safety standards are maintained at all times and that the product that is manufactured meets the customer's specification and is legally compliant in all aspects
Ensure that our factories are audit ready at all times and the strict GMP standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing site.
Conduct scheduled auditing of safety, legality and GMP standards of the site
Carryout regular documented checks on all areas and lines of manufacture and packing, including paperwork checks to ensure correct completion.
Carryout validation and verification of processes according to schedule
Monitor lines during production and report any issues in relation to quality or product safety
Carry out sampling, checks, tests, swabbing and other conformance requirements according to required schedules, including logging of samples into laboratory system
Conduct documented investigations and closure non-conformances, using Root Cause Analysis
Complete records and logs for all activities according to procedure
Prepare, audit and file paperwork for lines & mixing room
Set Up and conduct daily quality assessments, including feedback and trending for operational teams
Control & Documentation of On Hold and other non-conforming products
Pest Control checks where required
Carry out specified projects
Skills:
Good communicator ability to interact with other teams/functions
Ability to prioritise effectively
Ability to remain calm and professional in a sometimes pressurised environment
A passion for product quality
About you:
Role holder will have previous Knowledge & experience
QA or similar experience working within the food industry, ideally experience in short shelf life products
Food safety Level 2
HACCP
Basic understanding of Microbiology
Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Food Safety compliance
Working knowledge of Auditing techniques
Computer literate, good oral and written communication skills.
Fresh Produce, FMCG, Food to Go Retail and Food Service Technical Standards
Qualifications:
