UK Sales General Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Sales

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Responsible for: Sales Managers, Sales Administrator

Job Profile: The UK Sales GM is responsible for implementing sales strategy in order to drive sustainable growth, with particular focus on the luxury hotel, retail and gifting markets

Key Responsibilities:

  • Securing major new contracts for Newby Teas, such as a global hotel chain or supermarket brand
  • Diversify the UK sales offering by identifying and exploiting new potential markets
  • Increasing global sales as the key sales leader within Newby Teas.
  • Dotted line responsibility for all global sales teams
  • Lead, coach and develop the UK sales team, ensuring targets are agreed, met and exceeded
  • Create, foster and embed effective global sales processes and systems
  • Grow Newby Teas’ reputation as the world's leading luxury tea brand and fulfil the vision of preserving tea history and restoring the glory of the tea trade
  • Secure and sustain major UK contracts for the business
  • Integrate sales with other departments to optimise contracts

Person Specification     

  • An innovator and strategic thinker
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to ensure effective communication with a wide range of contacts both internal and external
  • Director-level sales experience with a premium brand within FMCG, preferably luxury
  • Access to a significant network of contacts within key markets
  • Experience in strategic account management and business development
  • Able to showcase a proven track record of success within sales management
  • A confident and capable leader, not afraid to take the reins where required
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times

Excellent IT skills including working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software packages, preferably Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
