Established in 1984, BGC Ltd has grown to become the UK and Ireland’s largest independent wholesaler of greeting cards and associated products.
BGC Ltd occupies a unique position in the market, as the only wholesaler of its type designing and publishing its own products.
With turnover approaching £40m from its eight trading locations, we are looking to expand further and build on its existing base of over 10,000 active customers.
Thanks to these exciting growth plans, an opportunity had arisen for an experienced and passionate individual to join the team in a newly created role.
Responsibilities
The Marketing and National Accounts Manager is a newly created position, and the successful candidate must be prepared to make the role their own. Tasked with establishing and executing the company’s renewed marketing agenda, you will be accountable for all marketing elements within the business. You will be responsible for creating and delivering the brand marketing plan, and provide appropriate support for the branch opening programme.
In addition, you will identify and communicate with target customers, and build and develop those relationships. You will ensure that lapsed customer accounts are identified and scrutinised in order to maximise sales opportunities. You will target key new business accounts in line with the agreed company strategy. These will include both major national retailers and smaller regional multiples.
Once established, you will be responsible for building and organising a team as support roles become required.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience within sales and/or marketing, ideally within a business to business environment.
You must be flexible, able to travel within the UK and Ireland, confident working independently whilst reporting into the Senior Leadership Team.
You must be well versed in data handling and able to react to requests for information from the SLT. Furthermore, your observations and analysis of data must result in actionable recommendations.
