£60,000 - £70,000 + BONUS + FULLY EXPENSED COMPANY CAR OR 8K CAR ALLOWANCE + FAMILY MEDICAL + MOBILE + LAPTOP + CONTRIBUTORY PENSION + 25 DAYS HOLS + BHs

My client is a market leading Foodservice company within the UK part of multinational Foodservice business. The critical and integral role we are recruiting for is a General Manager, however, this is not your run of the mill GM role, this role is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate with the right kind of ambition to take the reins of an entire business under the supervision of the Group Managing Director.

The Role

  • You will be accountable and responsible for the full circa £30million P&L for the business
  • You will have 3 x immediate direct reports with overall responsibility of a business with 90 x employees
  • This is a hands-on role with the need for a character who is not looking to sit in an office but one to be knees deep in the operation day in, day out – as and when the business so requires
  • In partnership with the Managing Director and Head of Finance, establish meaningful and efficient operating plans which include budgets, KPIs/ performance targets, that are reviewed with Senior management team on a regular basis
  • Overall accountability for the sales margin, service delivery, premises, transport, warehouse stock, health and safety and customer service of the business.
  • To ensure financial control within budgetary remit

The Candidate

  • Strong General Management experience within a foodservice environment, with broad commercial understanding of the food industry
  • Commercially focussed, displaying a customer centric approach – with strong customer skills and interaction with customers at all levels
  • Understanding of building operating plans and budgets and managing through KPIs/ performance targets
  • Performance based approach to delivering through people - people oriented, a leader with a clear understanding of how to get the best out of their teams and direct reports
  • Proven project management skills- ability to drive change through actions and leadership
  • Tenacious approach to delivery, quality of output and organisation
  • Capable communication skills – handles complex and difficult situations with thought and confidence
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions
  • Ability to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented
  • Displays integrity – is sincere in own behaviour and in dealing with others
  • Located within a commutable distance of Leeds
