Buying Category Manager - 1 year contract
A market leading retail brand are looking for an experience Buyer to take on a management role on an initial 1 year contract.
You will be working for a market leading, heritage brand, at the heart of the British high street. The business has a reputation for quality products and a modern product range.
The business is also known for their promotional activity, making category management a crucial centre piece to all commercial activity.
Working in a lead buying position, you will have control of a major, trendy category, which has seen significant growth over the last 18 months.
You will lead on supplier negotiations and range reviews, building the category and working collaboratively with marketing and project teams to ensure availability during promotional campaigns.
You will have a number of direct reports to support with category administration.
You will come from a retail or FMCG purchasing background, with demonstrable evidence of a category led approach - factoring in continuous reviews of portfolio performance, trend led analysis, supplier diversification.
You will have strong, developed negotiation skills, with some flair for creativity. In interviews, you can expected to be tested on broad commercial awareness and key trends. You are likely to be asked about your communication style and time management.
