International Sales Manager

Main Purpose of Job:

This company is an innovative children's food company that creates exciting products under well-known children's snacks brand name. Their hunt for innovative products has taken them all around the globe and introduced them to many fascinating businesses. Like the kids who love their tasty, healthy, fun snacks, they are growing very quickly and in many new directions. Working with all the top 5 retailers, they are already the second largest toddler snacks brand in the UK and going to get bigger. They have launched in Asia, Australia and Europe and recently in Central America as part of an aggressive export strategy.

An international sales manager is now required to join the team to account manage numerous International distributors across the strategic and core markets for the company. Working closely with the Head of Export to plan and implement export strategies.

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Managing, supporting and developing distributors within key existing markets
  2. Responsible for turnover, P&L and forecasting on each distributor account
  3. Setting distributor objectives and conducting regular performance reviews
  4. Co project managing bespoke artwork, NPD or EPD for markets that require it
  5. Understanding value chains and implementing a clear pricing structure across the distributor network
  6. Identifying, qualifying and appointing new distributors in new markets as part of growth strategy
  7. Negotiating distribution agreements and contracts
  8. Developing and growing existing trade markets as well as finding new ones 

Key Technical Skills/Knowledge/Professional Qualifications Required:

  1. Educated to a degree level
  2. A total of 5 years sales experience minimum
  3. Has experience in either export sales/cross boarder or the distributor model
  4. Preferably with a background in food and drink
  5. Proven commercial acumen
  6. Speaking any other languages is advantageous but not essential

Key Personal Skills Required:

  1. Excellent presentation and communication skills
  2. Self-starter that can work independently and take ownership of tasks
  3. Mature and professional understanding of cross-cultural differences
  4. Confident in working to monthly targets, reporting and strong professional sales approach
  5. Strong organisational and administrative skills
  6. Excellent attention to detail required
