Area Sales Manager

Role purpose :You will work with your team and the National Channel Lead to maximise annual volume and revenue sales targets compliantly and in line with FCA requirements and build the RAC brand.
The role needs to deliver Individual Membership targets which will be communicated at start of year, including unit, revenue, ARPU, headcount and cancellation. These Memberships will be sold directly to the public.
You will do this by:
-Developing, driving and coaching sales agents to ensure that they deliver agreed sales targets, ensuring compliance criteria are met for all sales
-Collate and analyse daily team sales figures and take the appropriate action
-Ensure effective communication channels with agents are in place to help improve morale and retention.
-Ensure regular business planning meetings are conducted and that improvement plans are in place where appropriate to ensure that the standards of the team are continuously raised
-Work with Recruitment Manager/National Channel Lead to ensure that your region maintains and grows headcount targets in line with venue availability and growth targets
-Ensure products are sold in a compliant manner
-Achieve compliance and quality metrics
-Ensure required compliance observation documents are in place for all agents and mandatory CBT`s are completed for team and self
-Ensure Clever Nelly training tool engagement across team
-Identify and share any compliance risks with the compliance team/Sales Managers
Cross-sell / Up-sell
-Deliver add-on revenues on bolt on products.
-Develop relationships with Product Managers/Commercial and support DSF in product trials where required.
-Work with the contact centre to ensure all complaints are dealt with in a timely manner
Skills & Knowledge & QualificationsTo be successful in securing this role, you must have a proven sales track record of target achievement.
Applicants must have led teams of sales people within the field (ideally self-employed).
Candidates must have worked in a similar / transferable industry, ie Sky, Eon, EDF, AA, Virgin or any membership/subscription driven sales business.
Experience of consumer sales, gained within a fast paced, high volume/profile consumer services brand
Experience of leading a field based sales agent team to achieve targets
Experience of driving sales acquisition through commission plans, incentives, reward and recognition.
Good level of commercial awareness
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders
Knowledge/experience of how to lead, recruit, coach and motivate large teams
A good good working knowledge of FCA and compliance procedures is also looked for
