We are looking for an Area Manager to join our team who will be passionate about our people, products and consistent delivery of results that will enable us to accelerate growth for the company.   JOB SUMMARY :
The Area Manager is responsible for managing a team of Trade Marketing Representatives (TMRs) within a geographic area ensuring the management all Independent & Independent Symbol Tobacco & Next Generation Product (NGP) retail & distributive outlets within their territories. He/She will report to the Regional Manager.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.  To achieve distribution, share of shelf, dialogue, and ultimately volume and market share objectives in support of company plans through their team.
i. To deliver excellence in Trade Marketing execution throughout the team, owning their area and developing Trade Marketing Representative to deliver Excellence in Execution 2. Business Accountabilities:
i. Deliver distribution, share of shelf, and sales in line with or ahead of targets
ii. Implement cycle marketing activities on time in full, including securing distribution of new products through different route to markets
iii. Encourage sell out by running local activities that educate retail partners on pricing policies and the importance of Tobacco and NGP categories to their trade 3. Leadership Accountabilities:
i. Drives and implements a coaching culture within their team with Trade Marketing Representatives and other Key Stakeholders
ii. Maintains high levels of team motivation by creating a dynamic, empowered and fun working environment which drives the achievement and over performance against objectives 4. Operational Accountabilities:
i. Complete business processes on time in full; ensuring accuracy of information and data
ii. Ensures their team works to the Full Trade Coverage Plan
iii. Efficiently manage business and financial assets (vehicles, IT, materials, stock, cash, budgets)
iv. Controls, monitors and uses Travel & Expenses budget to company policy ensuring zero overspend   5. Shopper Accountabilities:
i. Ensures their team monitors and minimises Out of Stocks using the applicable Route to Market for each channel
ii. Excellence in quality of execution and communication (Retail Business Adviser to Retailer Training, POSM placement, Overall category knowledge)
iii. Build retailer advocacy through education and rewards to drive awareness and trial for BAT brands in Tobacco & beyond 6. Customer Accountabilities:
i. Develop and leverage effective working relationships by giving assistance, advice and support on total FMCG market
ii. Leverage targeted retail investment to drive growth of BAT brands with maximum ROI
iii. Ensure compliance to trading agreements including distribution across the Area
iv. Analyse Sales Out data to enable their team to have business conversations in Trade to grow BAT brands
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Ideally a minimum of 2-3 years' experience with the FMCG industry and its products
- Demonstrated mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to work within constantly changing landscapes.
- Demonstrates a track record of success
- Strong bias for action and desire to develop people
- A full and valid UK driver’s license
- IT skills – basic use of the following packages: word, excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft outlook
- Preferably graduate, or of graduate caliber with potential and desire to progress within the company
