Buyer | Food and Indirects | North Lincolnshire

We are working with a leading and highly regarded food manufacturer who, over their history, has developed a wide reaching and award winning brand. As a result of some internal changes, they now find themselves looking for an experienced Buyer, who can help them, not only manage their current requirements, but who can help them realise their significant growth plans. If our recent site visit is anything to go by, then this business is an incredible and inclusive place to work. The Role:

You will be the main buyer for their core site, with responsibility for their Ingredients buying (Fresh Produce, Flavourings, Oils etc) and Indirects (Packaging, PPE, Consumables, Chemicals etc). You will be working closely with a number of members of the team to ensure there are robust systems and processes in place for re-ordering, ensuring you never run out of key products. Managing the service levels of your suppliers is vital. The business is keen to ensure they are working with the best suppliers and continuity of supply is a big part of this.

The Candidate:

A background in food / ingredients buying is going to be essential. The types of products you have been involved in are potentially open however, as the scope of this role is quite broad. Chilled, Fresh and Ambient will all be considered. Experience of Indirects buying would be an advantage, but an understand of good buying practices and potentially CIPS qualifications would be better. Culture and company fit are really important for the business. Integrity is crucial. The best example of this is how you would handle making a mistake.
