Head of National Sales (Home/Field Based)

Our client is a global FMCG business, operating in over 100 countries. With sales in excess of $1bn globally, the UK business has grown c350% in the last 7 years. They have established themselves as a market-leading business, driving capability across the organisation, whilst maintaining a culture of pace and entrepreneurialism.

As a result of internal promotion, a vacancy has arisen for a Head of National Sales. A key member of the Management Team, this individual will lead and manage the field sales team through 4 Regional Sales Managers, to ensure the achievement of revenue and other key objectives. They will also define and implement appropriate training plans/business tools to ensure that the team is equipped to win in the market.

As this appointment demonstrates, there are good progression opportunities, with the potential to move into more senior commercial, General Management roles, or international roles in the future.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate rigour, structure and process, but with a naturally entrepreneurial and flexible approach. They will be skilled in their customer interactions and bring strong strategic capabilities in order to deliver successful customer JBPs at the same time as taking a broader category approach.

You’ll need:

  • Significant sales leadership experience in FMCG, consumer healthcare, or consumer products.
  • Demonstrable success and experience in the leadership and development of a successful, sizeable, sales team.
  • The ability to motivate a team to achieve industry leading levels of performance.  
  • To be an exceptional communicator, with the ability to interface with customers, agencies and internal functions at all levels.
  • Proven success of identifying, developing and implementing new concepts to drive business growth and target achievement.
  • Willingness to travel (c2 nights away from home per week).
