Export National Account Manager – DIY/Homewares

A brand new client of mine is now looking develop the Export side of their business, so subsequently, they are in the market for an Export National Account Manager to come into the company and aid in the growth and drive business overseas.

Established 150 years ago, my client is a leader within their industry, and have been family run since their inception. They have grown year on year and now own factories in the Far East where they manufacture and then import products for their portfolio made up of 4000 high quality products. Currently selling into all major retailers within the UK, my client feels it is now time to grow the business overseas and drive the company’s sales by exploring new channels on an international scale.

As Export National Account Manager, you will have experience working on the export side of a business. This role is not limited by any region, so the more prior knowledge of working with markets around the world, the strong your application will be. You must be willing to travel regularly to meet customers and attend trade shows when needed. You will have experience in developing new business in foreign markets and have the ability to organise and structure your own diary. You will work alongside the Head of Business development to come up with a strategy that is most advantageous for the business moving forward.

The ideal candidate:

  • Prior experience in an export role
  • Consumer Goods industry, preferably homewares/DIY
  • New business development on a global scale
  • Willingness to travel and have a flexible diary
  • A dynamic, self-starter that can hit the ground running
  • Ability to analyse and see where the market is strongest and growing
  • Strategy development

This opportunity will suit a candidate who is currently working in an export/international position within the consumer goods industry. The ideal candidate will come from the DIY or Homewares industry and will be able to get started straight away and learn the product base. A midlands based candidate would be ideal but this is not a necessity providing you have good access to the motorway networks in order to be in head office when needed.
