About the Role:

This role will focus on the food side of the business and you will be responsible for managing the forecast and inventory to achieve planned sales. By building effective forecasts, you will deliver maximum sales throughout the year especially around key seasonal events and promotional activity. Working with the Buying team, you will build and maintain dynamic working relationships and identify and exploit sales and cost opportunities. You will focus on the short term planning (within 28 days) and solutions to ensure our clients customers can get the products that they love all of the time whilst minimising waste.

Key accountabilities include:

Optimise profit within acceptable service levels and waste parameters.
Use commercial acumen to optimise the ERP system.
Build and maintain effective relationships with the supply base to ensure accurate planning and management of inventory.
Actively contribute to the product development and ranging process of specified category.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record in a forecast and planning function. Strong numerical skills are essential as is the ability to analyse data to identify opportunities and threats to sales. You will be measured against forecast accuracy and the service levels, waste and profitability driven by achieving sales. With the ability to work well as part of a team, you will use your strong influencing and communications skills to deliver success within the category.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role you must have a track record of improving supply chain efficiencies and forecasts to result in greater availability whilst reducing waste. You will need to have experience with Excel and be able to analyse data utilising tools such as vlookups and pivot tables. You will be a good communicator and have a strong team work ethic.
